Pale indistinct thallus without a photobiont; ascomata large, dark, irregular smudges; MICROSCOPY: spores 6-9(-12)-celled, one end enlarged; FIELD ID: smudgy lirellae on pale thallus, pine twig substrate, lack of photobiont; requires dissection to confirm ID
