Whitish thallus with obscure gray-pruinose or blackish lirellae; MICROSCOPY: spores colorless, muriform, enlarged at one end, about 24-36 x 10-14 µm; FIELD ID: with experience, lirellae are large & bold compared with most commas ("blot" commas are exceptions); requires dissection to confirm ID
