Description

Green, gold, brown or tan thallus with dark- to light-brown, steep-sided warts; several perithecia usually crowded into each wart (though sometimes solitary); MICROSCOPY: spores 4-celled, 18-28 x 6-9 µm; FIELD ID: thalli with low, poorly developed warts can be mistaken for Viridothelium virens, but most are distinctive & unmistakable
