Thallus pale areas on substrate; fruiting bodies rising on short stalks, topped with broad, brown capitula; MICROSCOPY: hymenium persistent, asci with spores evident in dissection, spores brown, 1-celled, acute-tipped, about 7-9 x 3-4 µm; FIELD ID: specific substrate can make it possible in this case, though dissection & examination of spores is recommended to confirm
