Description

Pale green primary thallus of small squamules producing abundant granular isidia, sometimes obscuring the thallus; short (1 cm) podetia also granular & topped with gray-brown to dark gray apothecia; CHEMISTRY: thallus K+ strong yellow, PD+ orange (thamnolic acid); FIELD ID possible with careful observation; field K test is a good clue

Lignicolous (though substrates variable) squamulose/fruticose lichenized fungus, photobiont a chlorococcoid alga in genus Trebouxia or Pseudotrebouxia
