Gunmetal-gray thallus made up of minute, finely-branched lobes, the smallest branches less than 0.1 mm across, creating dense semi-fruticose rosettes; apothecia not seen; FIELD ID: unmistakable, once detected

Coccocarpia stellata (not yet known from Ga.) has flat rosettes (not semi-fruticose) with wider lobes (0.2-0.5 mm wide)
