Description

Dark olive/black to dull greasy olive (wet) thallus with lumpy isidia at lobe edges; lobes stretched & anastomosing when dry, looking roughly like a bat’s wings; apothecia irregularly shaped with reddish-brown disks & prominent, rough, thalline rims; FIELD ID possible with experience, but dissection may be necessary to distinguish Collema from Leptogium; see Similar Species
