Description

Olive-brown thallus green-black when wet, with small lobes, mostly adnate to rock surface; lobes slightly roughened, matte, thick for their size, with thickened edges; globose isidia toward center of thallus; FIELD ID possible in proper habitat, but if any confusion with Thyrea, dissection is recommended

Thyrea confusa has more scattered isidia, variable white pruina, a single attachment point, often erect lobes & interior organized into layers
