Description

Pale whitish thallus; gray-black lirellae partly immersed in thallus, closed, only occasionally branched; labia striate, appearing subtly striped when mature, simple when young; MICROSCOPY: exciple striate, laterally carbonized; hymenium clear; spores septate; CHEMISTRY: thallus UV+ yellow (lichexanthone); FIELD ID; most Graphis on small twigs will be this species; striate lirellae sometimes visible through hand lens, but ID best confirmed with field UV test
