Brown squamules directly on soil, almost filled with slightly concave reddish-brown apothecia; MICROSCOPY: lower hymenium IKI+ blue, spores colorless, simple, ellipsoid, 8/ascus; FIELD ID: given unusual substrate & appearance, unmistakable to genus, but lab chemical test required to take to species

Heppia adglutinata has not been recorded in Ga., but its hymenium would react IKI+ red
