Description

Pale green lobes, long and strap-like, with coarse soredia beneath lobe tips; cilia-like rhizines along edges, long & dark; underside ecorticate, white; thallus arches away from the substrate, becoming essentially fruticose; FIELD ID possible with careful examination of undersides

Similar Species

Heterodermia appalachensis also has narrow, strap-like lobes, but they adhere more closely to the substrate & have yellow pigment below
