Tiny black spots indicating presence of immersed pycnidia, or bulging from host thallus; microscopy: pycnidia about 30-50 µm wide, conidia brown, single-celled, almost spherical, slightly bumpy, about 2-4 µm wide

Similar Species

Lichenodiplis & Vouauxiella species appear as small dark blemishes on the host, but differ in characteristics of conidia; Lichenoconium lecanorae has pycnidia 80-100 µm in diameter

Neither habitat-specific nor host-specific; in Ga. found parasitizing a Cladonia thallus, Lecanora strobilina (2) & galls of Tremella parmeliarum (itself parasitizing Parmotrema hypoleucinum)
