Woodlands, hardwood forests & swamps; substrates: hardwood bark: 32% Quercus, 8% Nyssa & 22% other hardwoods or unknowns; conifer bark: 15% Juniperus; 9% rock, 1 record on wood & 12% on moss over bark or rock, though most of these specimens grew on bryophytes or lichens over other cited substrates
