Whitish thallus thin, slightly lumpy; flat to low-mounded, whitish soralia with coarse soredia at first discrete, but merging in places; no disks seen; CHEMISTRY: medulla KC+ red, C+ pink/red (gyrophoric acid), thallus UV+ yellow; FIELD ID: chemical tests required
