Description

Pale greenish-white, continuous thallus smooth, sparsely maculate; apothecia within sloping warts with 1-2 ostioles at summit, ostioles brown; MICROSCOPY: spores ellipsoid, colorless, simple, inner wall smooth/unornamented, 4/ascus; CHEMISTRY: medulla K+ yellow, PD+ pale orange (stictic acid), cortex C-, UV+ pale pink-orange (often on warts only); FIELD ID not possible, requires dissection to examine spores
