Description

Narrow, revolute lobes 1-1.5 mm across at tips, branching dichotomously from base to tips, arching away from substrate; upper surface pale gray; lower surface white at tips, variably darkening toward base; large isidia common on upper surface & margins, sometimes broadening into lobules; CHEMISTRY: medulla KC+ red, C+ pink (lecanoric acid); FIELD ID: taking care to note difference between upperside & underside (thus, essentially foliose, not fruticose), this lichen is like no other in Ga.
