Description

Pale green to whitish, continuous thallus with a crusty, crystalline appearance; lirellae in radiating groupings or large clusters; raised white ridges edge a reddish-brown, longitudinally striate, concave disk; outer edges of margins usually edged with cracks in thallus; margins sometimes closing over and obscuring disk; MICROSCOPY: exciple not carbonized, hymenium clear, spores colorless, about 8/ascus, 8-9 cells lens-shaped; CHEMISTRY: thallus UV-; FIELD ID: unmistakable, with field UV test

Similar Species

Thalloloma anguinum is similar but has at least some submuriform spores & is UV+ yellow
