Description

Pale green thallus, large, erumpent apothecia covered in dense white pruina, margins erect, jagged; MICROSCOPY: spores colorless, transversely septate, 7-10-celled, 8/ascus, about 30 µm long; FIELD ID: unmistakable, with care to eliminate similar species

Similar Species

Reimnitzia santensis also has large disks with erect, jagged margins, but the pruina is less dense, appearing as a gray, slightly dusted disk, & at least a few isidia can usually be found on any thallus
