Whitish to gray-green thallus thin, continuous, with sparse isidia sometimes in clusters; black to dark gray or brown ascomata 0.3-0.5 mm in diameter, thinly distributed, thick, convex with a central depression, & ringed by short black setae (sometimes sparse or irregular); FIELD ID: unmistakable with a close look at rims of ascomata
