Description

Green, yellow-tan or buffy-orange thallus, continuous, smooth; perithecia in groups, immersed, visible as black ostiole or occasionally with a small ring of black exciple exposed, tissue around ostioles usually a contrasting pale tan, buff or yellow

Similar Species

Bathelium carolinianum can resemble this species superficially, but usually has straight-sided raised groups of perithecia colored brown, and a green to brown thallus
