Description

Pale yellow-green to gray-green thallus with bright yellow medulla (showing on thalli where the algal layer has been grazed off); lobes are ruffled, with finely dissected margins, but without soralia or isidia; chestnut-brown apothecia frequent, also with dissected & lobulate margins; undersides pale tan-yellow to white

Ahtiana aurescens is superficially similar, but has a white medulla
