Pale yellow-green thallus adnate, often in an orderly rosette, with lobes 1.5-4.5 mm wide; short globular isidia abundant in older parts of thallus; apothecia uncommon to absent; underside pale tan to brown; CHEMISTRY: medulla K+ brownish, PD+ red (fumarprotocetraric acid); FIELD ID possible with a careful field K test, but best confirmed in the lab with PD test
The only other Xanthoparmelia with isidia & brown undersides in Ga. is X. plittii, which has medulla K+ yellow (to orangish), PD+ orange
