Pale, glossy thallus with lumpy warts surrounding deeply recessed apothecia; large pores expose apothecial tissue; MICROSCOPY: large spores 1-2/ascus, densely muriform; CHEMISTRY: thallus PD+ orange (unknown substance); FIELD ID not possible, chemical test & dissection required

Similar Species

Ocellularia sanfordiana has similar spores, but its thallus is PD-; O. americana has transversely septate spores
